Vehicle Description
1970 GSX Stage 1
GS Historic Society Documented TRUE STAGE 1!
This car was a frame off Rotisserie restoration and It then was a show piece for gentleman in ND. It has been in a local estate here in North Dakota for some years and is VERY well taken care of!
This is not a numbers car, it is a performance machine! 625 lb. of torque is produce from a 1972 455 built by Precision Engine and Machine!
As pictures will try to capture this car’s straight panels, SMOOTH contours and CRISP lines show well! Panel gaps line up PERFECTLY and the CODE CORRECT paint laid out over this laser straight body is NICE! This GS's vibrant, rich Cornet Gold is incredible at any angle you want to take it in! The clear that was laid out adds a TON of depth and the reflection is mirror quality! This meticulous nut and bolt rotisserie restoration is exactly what everybody wishes their restoration would look like!
All of the L1 soft ray tinted glass is all clear, NEW and easy to see throughout. The ORIGINAL bumpers were re-chromed and reflect well. The grill is perfect. The bottom of this car looks just as clean as the the top. The pans are all solid as pictures will show! The frame has been media blasted and powder coated. The fit and finish on this vehicle is second to none and there are not enough adjectives in the English dictionary to fully describe this car! Well OVER $100k was invested into this build.
Interior is NICE boasting a set of hand-worked ORIGINAL seats. Carpet is ALL new and free of stains. The L19 Gauges are ALL clear and easy to read and the Rally clock is SUPER nice as well. The factory installed J3 seat belts work like new! The dash is nice and the door panels have been reworked just as GM intended as well! The X2 Rally steering wheel is NICE. The 15 inch chrome rally wheels wrapped in BF rubber make this car drive like a dream!
Inside and out this car is a show stopper!
As you pop the hood, you immediately notice that between the fenders rests a 1972 455 bottom end, stock looking yes.... however it is completely rebuilt with minimal miles on it. It is BUILT very well from a NEW Buick Nodular coated crank to forged CP rods and pistons! The stock 455 bore is gone and it is now a 462. It was all assembled with ARP hardware, Federal Mogul Bearings and Molly rings. On top you will find Econo Port Edelbrock Aluminum Heads that were flowbench tested. It also boasts a Bullet Racing Cam and R&R cam bearings. Small internals include Crane Valve springs, Chromoly retainers, Manton 3/8 pushrods, Scorpion Flat Hydraulic Tapped Lifters, Stainless roller Rocker arms, Manley intake and exhaust valves and Eldelbrock guide plates! A Rollmaster Timing Set keeps everything lined up. You will also notice MSD handles spark. A Taylor wire loom kit cleans it all up very well! From Aeroquip fittings and Aeroquip oversized hoses this 462 is well thought trough and tidy!
This engine is paired to a BUILT 400 transmission that shifts smooth as butter! In the back you will find a True Trac 9in - positrac 3.73 rear connected to a NEW custom driveshaft.
This car starts with one pump and the turn of a key - first time every time. It runs extremely well and drives like NO OTHER With new boxed control arms and bushings! The custom exhaust and headers have an incredible note that is VERY unique! It sounds GREAT at idle and only gets better as you get into the gas!! This GS is equipped to stop with a set of power disc brakes up front and the whole brake assembly is just as GM intended it to be. The C5 fast variable ratio power steer also help make this car that much more enjoyable! We have the GS historic society paper work and the build work of this car so buy with confidence!
With LOTS of documentation and precision restoration this GS does justice to the glory of Buicks legend.... with CRAZY added power! This classic BEAST of a 70 is looking for a new owner who wants to outshine the rest, but serious offers only, please. People who know cars will understand the true value of this car’s documentation, collector appeal and STREET PERFORMANCE! Make Chevelles shake and look stock at the same time!
